Adventure Motorcyclists Lisa and Simon Thomas will present a special program at the Association of Fundraising Professionals Northeastern Pennsylvania Chapter Conference & Philanthropy Forum on Thursday, October 12 and Friday, October 13, 2017.
“Simon and Lisa have ridden their way into a life that most of us can only imagine. Since setting out on their journey in 2003 the duo has amassed an insane 450,000 motorcycle miles on their ride, through 78 countries on six continents. Along the way they’ve traversed 27 deserts, survived a broken neck in the Amazon Jungle, cheated death and are still travelling today,” said John Dawe, MNA, CNP, CFRE, conference chairperson.
When asked why they continue to ride after far surpassing every record in the book, Simon’s quick response is, “We get to meet and experience the incredible hospitality and genuine stories of people, and we get to share those stories. It’s definitely the people.”
Lisa and Simon Thomas helped define what is now called “Adventure Riding.” As explorers, writers, photographers and public speakers this pair inspire adventure, motivate change, and educate. The duo have spoken to audiences from corporate leaders at Adidas and BMW to motorcycling conventions.
Lisa and Simon Thomas will speak at Wilkes University Henry Student Center ballroom on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. The presentation is sponsored by The Luzerne Foundation, Edwards + Strunk, Inc., Dawe Consulting, LLC, Wilkes University, and AFP.
